BetterHalf Labs is a Canadian product studio. We build proprietary software for creators, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and communities — the people who do ambitious work without a back office behind them.
The studio started with a simple goal: to make in Canada, and to make it easier to discover and navigate Canadian opportunities. Funding intelligence, financial planning, and social content all live under one roof, shaped by years of production and grant work rather than guesswork.

Founder
Gursimran Datla
Gursimran Datla is the founder of BetterHalf Labs and a producer at BetterHalf Films, where more than a decade of production work has covered everything from development and financing to delivery.
That work led naturally into funding: verified through the Grant Professionals Association, Gursimran has guided creators and organizations through Canadian federal and provincial programs, tax credits, labs, and residencies — the same terrain CanGrants now maps in software.
As an immigrant creator-founder, building from the ground up has meant a lot of learning, testing, and rebuilding along the way. BetterHalf Labs is the result: tools made in Canada for the communities Gursimran works alongside.
